Overnight at the Swan River 4th December 2011

Well it was a beautiful weekend and Mark & Deane had decided to go off to the river on the Saturday night and we stayed at the Marina and partied with the gang on Jamon's boat. The next day we decided to head off to the river as the weather was perfect. We left at about 3pm and got to our spot in front of Coco's right next to Mark & Deane and what an awesome spot. Spent the night have a few bevies on Mark & Deane's boat and then spent the night on the river. The next day we headed back and spent a couple of hours and had lunch at Black Wall reach and then headed home to Mindarie. Love it and will be doing that a few more times this summer!!!

Mindarie Festival 20th November 2011

What a day rafting up at the Mindarie Festival outside "The Boat". It was a big day out with lots of beers and beautiful sunshine. Our boat was set up just against the jetty and the partying was done on Jayman's, Bretts & Chris & Blairs boat so we put our boat back about 1.00pm to save doing it later in the day. It was alot of fun and would think there will be plenty more this summer - bring it on!!!!

1st October 2011 Grand Final at Rotto

We headed over to Rottnest to watch the Grand Final and on the way over we were blessed to see some whale action - one jumped right out of the water - it was really a great sight.
Well we spent the AFL Grand Final at Rottnest this year with Blair & Chris and watched the game at Blair's sisters place - they live over there and her fiance is one of the Rangers. Geelong came home winners over Collingwood so that was a good result. We had dinner on the boat and then the kids stayed to watch a movie and we all went to The Gov's Bar where we caught up again with Blairs sister and had a few drinks watching a great couple of guys playing accoustic guitars and really great singers. Stayed there til the end and then headed back to the bay and on the way we stumble across a group of youngs lads which one of them had had a bike incident where his front tyre had come off his bike and he had kissed the ground with his nose and mouth. Lots of blood and his friends where using there phones to to light up the ground looking for his teeth!!! WTF We suggested they take him to the nurses post for treatment. Then headed down to the beach to get our tender to go back to the boats. Well no tended in sight - not good - so we were scanning the area and couldnt find it and went down the end of the jetty in front of the pub and a guy appeared on his dingy towing ours - not sure how this happened he was quite drunk to give us a real explanation but he said it had floated over there but the guys on his boat were having a real giggle so we thought there was more to it. I was just happy to have the boat back so that we could get out to our boat and drop Blair and Chris off. The next morning we went and had brekkie at the dome and then headed home about 11.00am. On the way home we had the joy of seeing the whales again - spouting and breaching so lucky we are.Had really awesome weather and Thomson bay was like a mill pond - bloody beautiful!!!

23.09.2011 - Eagles semi final at "The Boat" Mindarie

Well what a day we had at Mindarie with the sun shining and actually quite warm for a spring day. We decided that we would watch the footy semi final between WestCoast and Geelong at "The Boat" at Mindarie so we pulled the boats up on the jetty - Chris & Blair and us. Awesome day was being had until some drop kicks decided to let their sun throw sticks at Blair & Chris's boat and after several words were spoken we decided that they were not worth the effort. So after a little hiccup the day progressed with lots of drinks and great company. Mark & Deanne joined us and so did Jaymon and by 9.00pm I had to sneak off to bed after way too many wines and join Matthew. The rest of the gang partied on until 1.30am and many sore heads in the morning. Little Matty decided to get up early and clean up all our mess - bless him as I don't know whether I could have faced it - very bad headache!!! Great day and night and so awesome spending it on the boat - looking forward to summer - roll on Rotto!!!

Finally Smartcraft up and working!!!

Well what a saga we have had with this Smartcraft. It all started with a day out on the boat with Julia and Thierry and the kids and the alarms started on the smartcraft and then the anchor wouldn't come up and the end result was a smashed screen on the smartcraft. So we searched the internet and located one on Ebay which we ordered on the 12th April and it was coming from Miami - ironic as that is where we were heading on the 15th April on our American Adventure. No probs as left note for Leah about package coming and all was good. Well unfortunately all wasnt good as Leah didn't see when it arrived and they only keep it at the post office for 10 days so they sent it back - surface mail !!!!! This takes upto 3 months to get back. So with this happening we ordered another one from Ebay and got it here only to discover that it was the wrong model - cummins instead of mercury - but after plugging it in and recalibrating the system we managed to lose all our gauges as well. So back on Ebay and to our amazement we were able to locate another smartcraft which we promptly purchased ( all up this has cost us a bomb ) and this arrived with 2 weeks. After locating Mister Marine who was the man for the job he worked his magic and got everything back in working order - including gauges and it was all fixed by the 17th August - 4 months of no use of the boat. On fixing this Tim was keen to give it a run which was great but unfortunately then showed us that the seals needed fixing so they have now been replaced and we are all go -roll on summer!!!
