March 2013 trip to Rotto

Well it was our annual trip over to Rotto meeting up with the Pedleys and any one else that comes over. Really rough trip over battling a Westerley wind with one of our clears split so got pretty wet but so worth it when we got to Rotto. Brian and Sue were over for the a few days and we spent the first 3 nights in Thompson Bay which was really nice - very calm. Had dinner on the Pedleys boat on Tuesday night and Chris came over on the Wednesday. We headed over to Geordie on the Thursday and spent the rest of the time there. Cruised around on the brig which was awesome and the boys went out fishing and got a queen snapper and skippy and also managed to get some crays. Blair came over on the Friday morning and stayed til Sunday and Matty and I caught a ride home with them and Tim stayed on for another week with Geoff and family. Dave Gowdes and his family also came over for a wedding and were staying the week as well.

Australia Day Weekend At Rotto

We headed off to Rotto on the 28th January the Monday of the long weekend for a few days. It was the first visit to Rotto with the new addition the Brig. She towed really well with the new bridal that we had made up and when we got to Rotto Matty drove it in to Thompson Bay. Timmy came with us and the first night we stayed in Thompson bay and did some fishing and managed to get about 12 herring - yummy!

On the Tuesday we headed round to Geordie bay with the big girl and got on our mooring and then we headed to Eagle Bay on the Brig. Spent a couple of hours there and the boys jumped off the rocks and did some snorkling. Headed back to Geordie and moved the big girl in real close and had a nice BBQ and boys did some more fishing but didnt catch any thing. Headed off about 10.30 on the Wednesday with a nice seabreeze behind us - great journey home!

Rottnest December 2012 NYE

We headed over to Rottnest on the 27th December where Jamon and Bec had been since Christmas Eve. They guided us in to Narrowneck Bay and found a purple mooring for us to go on to. Brett had come over with us and he helped us get set up on our mooring but within 10 minutes we were kicked off by the authorised holder so we moved to the one next to Jamon and Bec.

We did alot of bay hopping on our tenders as it was 40 degrees every day  so it was nice to go swimming in different bays - Eagle bay, Marjorie Bay, Thompson Bay where the kids had a go on the kids fun park in Thompson North. Emily came over with us and then headed home with Grandad on the Friday after he came to visit us and show off his nice catch of a huge Dhufish. Lane and his family were also in Narrowneck and they dropped off some Crayfish that they had caught - so nice of them!!! Tim celebrated his birthday over at Rottnest so we had a few drinks with him that night. Chris & Blair, Bec & Jamon, Donna & Karen

Marni and Emily came over on Christmas Eve and we caught up with Suellen and Mark and Timmy as they had come over and were in Thompson Bay so we headed over there after we patched up the Rib which had managed to get a leak in it again. It was pretty hot so we headed to the pub for a couple of drinks waiting for the 5.00pm ferry and Marni and Emily met us there. We headed back to Narrowneck were we had a quiet but great New Years Eve.

The big girl travelled really well over to Rottnest after having the Starboard motor rebuilt in November which took 3 weeks and cost nearly $25,000 so we were happy everything went well. Apparently the head had cracked in 4 places so we had to get a new head which is why it was so costly.
