12th January 2012 - 14th January 2012

Well another visit to wonderful Rottnest as the weather was too good to miss out on. Dom & Amy came over with us and we went to the pub for a drink and then back to the boat for dinner and watching Timmy and Matty fishing in their ugly stick hats. It was a little rough sleeping that night with a howling easterley but off to the Dome we went for breakfast and then Dom & Amy took the boys on the bus around the island. Marty and Kylie and kids came over in the afternoon so met up with them for a drink and then Dad & Morris came to visit after a successful fishing day and also to pick Amy & Dom up to take them home. We stayed the Friday night and still a bit rough but not too bad. Really hot and sat out in our blow up chairs catching some rays while the boys jumped of the jetty and off Marty's boat. We also made friends with one of the local pelicans and gave him all of our fish that we did not want to eat and he loved them. Home we came on the Saturday and it was like a mill pond. Everything ran smoothly with the newly fixed alternators doing their thing. We came back early as we were off to Thierry and Julia's for a boozy night with the T & C gang!!

Boxing Day 2011 - to the 29th December 2011

So off to Rottnest we headed on Boxing day with our new Tender in tow and we were very excited. Spent the first day swimming and hanging round the boat and caught up with Roland and Sammy and kids on the boat. Matthew and Tim were taking them back to shore and an accident occurred with the dinghy hitting the prop of another dinghy. Not happy Jan!!! So Tim was so disappointed and that afternoon we tried to patch it up. The next day Chris gave us a hand and managed to put a descent patch on it and this kept it up with us having to top up the air every few hours. We were in Thompson bay and we had to move 3 times as we were on someone's mooring and on the last time we left the umbrella up and it ripped out of the Marlin board which was not good. So we were having our fair share of incidents but nothing would put a damper on Tim's birthday which we had round at Stark bay which was really gorgeous. A good day was had by all and many drinks were drank. The next day we went round to Thompson Bay on the Tender with Jaymon and then around to Parker point. It was then time to head on home so back to Mindarie we went. About a nautical mile out from Mindarie all instruments stopped working as the battery lost all charge. We put the generator on and this got most of the instruments up and running enough for us to get back and into the pen thank goodness!!! It was discovered that both of the alternators had gone and needed fixing. So all in all we had a fun time.
